The Schiatti Angelo Turnover Unit 3/10 mm is an advanced automation system developed to connect two or more straight-line edging or beveling machines in a complete production line. Its main function is to automatically rotate glass sheets by 90°, allowing continuous processing of all four sides of the glass without manual intervention.
Designed for medium and large glass processing companies, the Turnover Unit is commonly integrated into automatic lines composed of multiple edgers or bevelers, where it ensures synchronized movement and efficient transfer of glass sheets between processing stages. A complete four-side processing line generally consists of four edging/beveling machines and three turnover units.
The machine is equipped with a heavy-duty rotating arm fitted with vacuum suction cups, managed by a PLC control system. Photocells automatically detect the dimensions of the glass sheet, transferring the information to the PLC, which controls the rotation cycle according to the production requirements.
During rotation, the glass sheet is lifted and handled safely by the vacuum system, while an automatic air cushion prevents direct contact and reduces the risk of scratching or damaging the glass surface. This technology guarantees safe handling even with large glass panels.
