Schiatti Angelo BFT 12 – Advanced Double-Sided Processing for Round Edge Glass Finishing
The Schiatti Angelo BFT 12 Series is a professional double edging machine with cup wheels designed for the simultaneous processing of two opposite sides of glass sheets. By machining two parallel edges at the same time, the BFT 12 significantly reduces production time while guaranteeing excellent squareness, repeatability and superior finishing quality.
The machine is designed for producing polished pencil edges and can be configured with different wheel arrangements:
2D + 2L – diamond grinding wheels and polishing wheels for pencil edge finishing;
2D + 2L + SP – pencil edge finishing with additional dubbing device;
2D + 2F + 2L – flat edge and arris processing;
2D + 2F + 2L + SP – combined flat edge, arris and dubbing processing.
The BFT 12 is equipped with a dual-driven polyurethane timing belt conveyor system, adjustable according to the glass thickness, ensuring stable and precise glass movement during processing. The integrated squaring assembly aligns the glass sheets before grinding, while the automatic alignment system distributes the glass removal evenly on both sides, guaranteeing consistent edge quality.
The machine incorporates independent adjustment of diamond wheels, automatic adjustment of polishing wheels and a PLC control system that allows operators to manage glass thickness, working speed, processing devices and machine diagnostics. The closed-circuit water cooling system ensures reliable operation and stable production performance.
The diamond and polishing units can rotate externally, allowing easier maintenance operations and faster tool replacement, reducing machine downtime and improving overall production efficiency.
The BFT 12 can also be supplied as part of a complete automatic production line, combining two edging machines and a transfer table for four-side glass processing.
