Automatic Glass Storage for Jumbo and Regular Sheets

The Schiavo Tech CLO6000-A / CLO3300-A is an automatic lateral storage system developed for the safe, organised and space-efficient storage of glass sheets and glass packages.

The CLO6000-A is designed for jumbo-size glass, while the CLO3300-A is intended for regular-size sheets. Both versions use laterally moving racks to provide controlled access to the selected glass package while reducing the floor space required by conventional fixed storage systems.

Automatic PLC Rack Selection

The operator selects the required rack number directly from the PLC control panel.

Once the rack has been selected, the motorised system automatically opens the access space required to withdraw or load the glass sheet or package.

This eliminates the need to move individual racks manually and provides a more efficient workflow in busy glass-processing facilities.

Inverter-Controlled Motorised Movement

Rack movement is powered by a gear motor controlled through an inverter.

The inverter allows the movement speed, acceleration and deceleration to be adjusted according to the installation and operating requirements.

Controlled acceleration and deceleration contribute to smoother rack movement, reduced mechanical stress and safer handling of heavy glass loads.

Lateral Moving Rack Configuration

The first and last racks remain fixed, while the intermediate racks move laterally to create the required access opening.

The rack structure can be configured with inclination to the left or right according to the factory layout and glass-handling direction.

The electrical cabinet is positioned on the final rack, keeping the control equipment integrated into the storage system.

CLO6000-A for Jumbo Glass

The CLO6000-A is designed for jumbo glass sheets up to 6,000 × 3,000 mm.

Different rack-support configurations are available to accommodate glass packages of different thicknesses and weights.

The jumbo system can also be configured with racks suitable for two regular-size glass crates, providing flexibility for factories processing more than one sheet format.

CLO3300-A for Regular-Size Glass

The CLO3300-A is designed for regular-size glass sheets up to 3,300 × 2,600 mm, with an optional configuration for glass up to 3,700 × 2,600 mm.

Different support widths and rack load capacities are available according to the type and weight of glass package to be stored.

Anti-Overturn Safety System

The CLO storage system incorporates a robust anti-overturn mechanism with an underneath bearing.

This design helps the rack continue moving correctly even when the load is not perfectly balanced and the rack tends to lean laterally.

The system improves both movement stability and operational safety when supporting heavy glass packages.

Heavy-Duty Wheel and Bearing System

Rack movement is supported by wheels equipped with internal roller bearings.

The CLO6000-A jumbo version uses a heavy-duty wheel system suitable for higher rack loads, while the CLO3300-A uses a configuration designed for regular-size glass packages.

This construction supports smooth movement, durability and dependable long-term operation.
