Super-Jumbo CNC Glass Cutting for Automated Lines

The Vetromac SL90-33 is a CNC float glass cutting machine developed for integration into automated production lines handling super-jumbo glass sheets.

Designed for glass sheets up to 9,100 × 3,300 mm, the machine combines automatic glass transport, precise CNC cutting and efficient connection with upstream and downstream production equipment.

The SL90-33 processes monolithic float glass with thicknesses ranging from 2 to 19 mm.

With a maximum cutting speed of 200 m/min and cutting accuracy of ±0.15 mm, the machine delivers the precision, repeatability and productivity required for demanding continuous-production environments.

Integrated T10 Belt Transport System

Glass loading and unloading are performed through special T10 transport belts integrated into the working table.

The belt-management system is fully adjustable, allowing the transport belts to be aligned accurately with the surface of the cutting table.

This configuration ensures smooth and controlled transfer of super-jumbo glass sheets between the SL90-33 and other equipment installed in the production line.

The transport belts are covered with a special high-grip material to improve contact with the glass during loading, positioning and unloading operations.

Easy Belt Replacement and Maintenance

Vetromac uses an exclusive traction and sliding solution that allows the operator to replace the transport belts directly from above the cutting table.

The belt-adjustment system is also accessible from the upper side of the machine, reducing maintenance time and avoiding unnecessary disassembly of the table structure.

Replaceable anti-friction sliding components support smooth belt operation and simplify long-term maintenance.

Optional Glass Floating System

The SL90-33 can be equipped with an optional Glass Floating System.

The air-flotation system creates a cushion of air underneath the glass sheet, allowing super-jumbo and heavy glass sheets to be moved and positioned more easily across the working surface.

A dedicated blower can be installed for each machine module, ensuring evenly distributed air flotation across the complete cutting table.

Engineered for Accuracy and Durability

The SL90-33 features a rigid steel cutting bridge designed to maintain structural accuracy during long-term industrial operation.

The cutting bridge and cutting head operate on double linear guides with recirculating ball bearings, providing stable and precise movement during high-speed cutting operations.

An ultra-low-friction scoring cylinder provides controlled and consistent cutting pressure across the complete glass-thickness range.

CNC-Machined Modular Construction

Vetromac machines are based on a modular construction system in which the mechanical components are CNC-machined and mechanically assembled.

The precision mechanical sections are manufactured without welded joints, supporting dimensional consistency, easier component replacement and long-term serviceability.

Adjustable and Replaceable Work Surface

The working surface is divided into individually adjustable and interchangeable panels.

This construction allows the cutting table to be levelled accurately and enables worn panels to be replaced individually without replacing the complete working surface.

Super-Jumbo Automated Glass Production

With a maximum cutting capacity of 9,100 × 3,300 mm, the SL90-33 is designed for processors working with super-jumbo architectural glass, façades, curtain walls, structural glazing and other large-scale applications.

The machine can be integrated with automatic loading systems, breakout tables and additional glass-processing equipment to create a high-capacity continuous production line.

Designed for Low Total Cost of Ownership

Accessible belt adjustment, replaceable sliding components, interchangeable work-surface panels and modular CNC-machined construction help reduce maintenance requirements and machine downtime.

This design philosophy supports dependable long-term operation and a low total cost of ownership throughout the machine’s lifecycle.
